The Pitstop 48 is a seasonal ice cream and fast food shop with plenty of outdoor seating, where you can truly enjoy our summer. We are open seven days a week from Mother's Day weekend until just after the Sept. long weekend. 11am – 10 pm
Darrell and I (Lorrie) Moldovan have owned Pitstop since 2017 after leasing it for two years. We have been making improvements and repairs whenever possible. Pitstop 48 it's self was started over 35 years ago. We pride ourselves on the fact that we still serve real cream soft ice cream and you can taste the quality. There are many places that offer soft ice cream made from powdered milk products and soy oil. They are doing that because it is cheaper and can be stored at room temperature until poured into their machines.
We say real is better because from our product we make sundaes, hand blended milkshakes, twisters, squishies and add it to our homemade pies, brownies and cookies. Many of own sauces are made from scratch from fresh ingredients like caramel , maple walnut or saskatoon toppings.
Homemade dipping sauces like our Buffalo, Honey Dill, and Hamburger
Our locally sourced beef is specially prepared into the third pound burgers we serve. We garnish them with fresh lettuce, tomatoes, pickles, diced raw or caramelized onions. Four different cheeses can be added along with thick sliced bacon and sauces to finish it just the way you like it.
There are so many choices from the deep fryer fillet or popcorn chicken, smokies, hot dogs, pizza pops. There are mozza sticks, perogies, onion rings deep fried pickles or mushrooms. People drive miles for our home style french fries and we serve up thousands of poutines every year.
Different specials are featured through out the year. We have 12 kinds of Milkshakes, 10 or more Twisters, 6 Sundaes, 10 Flavours of Slushies and Squishies
